7 Games That We're Stoked to Play in Fall of 2018
2018 has been an extremely amazing year for games. We've already gotten some unforgettable titles such as the spellbinding God of War and the critical indie darling Celeste. But we haven't even hit the fall season yet!
Fall is most definitely the busiest time of year for entertainment, games included. It's almost impossible to try and play every game that gets released, and may gamers, ourselves included, end up having to pick between a few of them.
So why don't we use this time to compile what we feel are the games that almost certainly will be worth your time and hard-earned cash.
7. Fallout 76 - November 14
If you had told us that a brand new Fallout game would be an always online multiplayer experience. We might have laughed in your faces. It's FALLOUT for crying out loud! The game is all about being by yourself! But what Bethesda showed off at E3 this year was something entirely different and it just about had us dusting off our old pip-boys.
6. Battlefield V - October 19
It's time for Battlefield to go back to its roots! This game looks like a sweaty palm inducer for sure (grips anyone?) and we're so stoked to see what DICE will be doing with the brand new battle royale mode.
5. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 - October 12
Call of Duty has had its ups and downs, but one thing is for sure: Black Ops never disappoints. The mixture of tactical espionage, zombies maps, and addicting, fluid multiplayer is what made this series a blockbuster to begin with, and if the beta has taught us anything it's that this game is going to be a blast.
4. Marvel's Spider-Man - September 7
Peter Parker is coming to our living rooms once again and from the makers of Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet & Clank no less! The whole development cycle of this game has been a recipe for success and we don't see any reason why this game won't be amazing.
3. Pokémon Let's GO! Eevee & Pikachu - November 16
Ever since the release of the Switch gamers have had a burning question: When will we get Pokémon?. Well the answer is this fall! While it's definitely not a full-fledged release - which is coming later - this game promises to mix the casual fun of Pokémon go with the handheld RPG experience of the core games. Add a proprietary Pokéball controller that lets you load Pokémon onto it and you have an instant-cop game for most people.
2. Forza Horizon 4 - October 2
Forza Horizon has always been the pinnacle of graphical fidelity on console. Every iteration takes the amazing tech and features of each main Forza title and adds a giant open world to that. When Horizon 4 was shown off at E3, we were blown away by the lush landscapes and beautiful, dynamic weather in the sprawling UK map.
1. Red Dead Redemption 2 - October 26
When is a new Rockstar game NOT an event? Right? Many people in our office consider RDR to be one of the best games ever made. Now RDR2 looks like it might just blow the first out of the water. That alone is worth a day 1 purchase.
