Smash Bros. Ultimate: Why You Should Play World of Light Last
Before you grab your pitchforks, hear us out.
Hey, you there. Calm yourself down and allow us to explain.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is an awesome game with tons of features and a seemingly endless buffet of content. Pros and casual players are sinking thousands, if not millions, of hours into its many modes one; of which is the story mode titled "World of Light".
Don't let our title mislead you, we think World of Light is completely worth your time. But we've found that waiting until you've done a sizable amount of other things the game has to offer before jumping into the story is truly the way to go.
Not convinced? Well then maybe this post isn't for you. But if you want to know why we think this way then here is our list of reasons why.
You can spend more time playing what the game does best
Smash Bros. was born to be played multiplayer. It's in the game's DNA. Nintendo has built this series into THE game to play with friends and have spent two decades refining the experience of playing with real, actual humans. Face it, when it comes to Smash, CPU players should be secondary.
So if you're not sitting on the couch screaming at your friends for spamming Yoshi's tongue grab or getting your ass kicked by a 9-year-old child prodigy via Switch online then you're not getting the full experience. It's as simple as that.
Unlocking Fighters by Playing WoL Takes Twice As Long
We're not kidding. Look it up. Playing through classic mode is the only surefire way to guarantee the appearance of a new fighter. Playing through World of Light because you want to unlock more fighters is just a waste of time. Play it for the story and the arcade-y fights and you won't regret it.
There are plenty of other ways to unlock fighters and this game has so many of them that it seems like they come along frequently. Sometimes every other battle.
Training Makes Perfect
If you're a new Smash player or you just aren't that good, then you'll totally benefit from hopping into training to really get a feel for the fighters. Mastering some tricky combos might really be what you need to go back and knock the socks off of that child prodigy from earlier.
Yes, simply playing World of Light has its benefits too, but if you're trying to hone in on your skills and figure out which fight style fits your play style then the features in the training mode are much more suited for your needs.
You'll Have Time to Familiarize Yourself With the Fighters
It's worth noting that World of Light can be VERY challenging at times. The boss battles in particular are especially hard. So knowing how the fighters control, and which ones play to your personal strengths is not only a great way to approach World of Light, it's also just a great thing to have in mind when picking the game up.Did you like this post?
